1)SEO – It is the Process of bringing your Website on to the top Page of Google search results Organically(Unpaid) basis the keywords used by audience in the Google Search Query box.

4)SMM- It is a process of gaining Website traffic or attention through Social Networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogging and many more.  It should have great content that can encourage readers to share it with their social networks. As it comes from trusted 3rd party and not directly from Company , it can also be considered a form of word of mouth marketing on social media.

7)Affiliate Marketing– It is a commission based Marketing on internet Space. You like a Product, you register as an affiliate(Partner to Promote) on that site. You earn a commission when someone clicks on the link placed by you and purchases a product. (Ex Clickbank, Amazon,etc). Affiliates recommend a product & when someone purchases those products, affiliates earn a portion of the sale. Once you have done the hard work you will earn money even when you are sleeping. 9)Influencer Marketing- As not all brands can afford celebrity marketing, they identify popular people on internet space who can promote their brands virally by communication about the brand/ service  on various digital platforms to their subscribers. Examples of Influencers are Celebrities, Friends & Family, Online Influencers, Loyal existing Customers who had a great experience and willing to speak good about their experience within their extended network.

How much do you Know about GOOGLE?

Google is the world’s most popular Search Engine followed by Yahoo & Bing. It began a search Project in 1996 by Larry Page & Sergey Brin, who were Ph.D holders at Stanford University. They developed this search Engine algorithm that ranked Web Pages not just by content and keywords, but by how many other Websites / Web Pages are linked to each page. This strategy produced more useful results than other search Engines, and led to a rapid increase in Google’s Web Search market share. This Google’s ranking Algorithm was later named as “Page Rank” and was patented in September 2001. It became the No.1 Search Engine in the World.

Google BOT also known as robot / spider is a crawler which crawls the internet to identify what’s new? They are text driven. When it crawls a particular Website it analyses the text and identifies what the site is all about and then classifies it into a specific bucket. It performs 3 major tasks:-

  • Crawlers- Gathers Information from Word wide Web(www) and stores in a temporary data base. Its like a watchman trying to identify what is coming onto the Web and the authenticity and relevance of new posts.
  • Indexer- Collects the data from Crawler and organizes in a particular order basis the relevance and popularity.
  • Search Interface-A search interface is a single entry point providing access to the content of an index. It allows users to send queries as well as display, sort and save results.

Insights into few Google famous algorithms

1)Pigeon- July 2013, Poor On Page & Off Page Blogs got affected.

Pigeon was designed to tie Google’s local search algorithm closer to their web algorithm and to improve ranking parameters based on distance and location.

We should ensure we  accept backlinks from Pages having high PR Value only.

We should ensure we don’t have more than 2 links from a website as backlink. If we have many links it results in Black Hat SEO Technique.

We should at least provide 1 outbound link from our website to external website.

2) Rank Brain- 2015, Its an extension to Humming Bird to display more accurate results to user search terms. Depending on the keyword, Rank Brain will increase or decrease the importance of back links, content freshness, content length, domain authority etc.

Note- Backlinks (also known as “inbound links”, “incoming links” or “one way links”) are links from one website to a page on another website. Google and other major search engines consider backlinks “votes” for a specific page. Pages with a high number of backlinks tend to have high organic search engine rankings.

3)”Possum- Sep 2016” is an update to Google’s local search rankings algorithm, and it decides when businesses will show up in local search results, sometimes filtering business listings out of search results.

4)Fred 2017- To eliminate spam content like Websites created only to generate revenue and hence they use Black hat SEO Techniques like keyword stuffing, AdSense stuffing, (Always remember max 2-3 ads to be placed in 1 website, including internal pages.) This update caused a huge shift in rankings and traffic for sites deploying black-hat and heavy ad monetization tactics.
